Guilders API Overview
Use the hosted Guilders API with an API key, or run your own instance
The Guilders API lets you read and write accounts, transactions, categories, and connections — the same data the dashboard uses.
You can call the hosted API at guilders.app with an API key from your Guilders account, or point the same API at a self-hosted instance.

Quick Start
Most people use the live server. You do not need to run anything locally.
- Sign in at dashboard.guilders.app.
- Open Settings → Developer and generate an API key. Copy it immediately — it is shown only once.
- Call the hosted API with the
x-api-keyheader:

Self-hosting the stack is optional. If you run your own API, use that origin instead of https://guilders.app and create a key on your instance. See Self Hosting.
